The Hijirigaoka Hospital was established in 1990 within a suburb of Tokyo, amidst the abundant greenery and rolling hills of the Tama district, with the aim of providing compassionate health care. The hospital has 48 beds and various leading-edge health care equipments. It has concentrated its efforts on providing routine physical examination services from the standpoint of preventive medicine with a primary focus on general health care in the areas of internal medicine, surgery and obstetrics and gynecology. Hijirigaoka Hospital was certified as the fourth hospice facility in the Tokyo metropolitan area in 1996. At this facility, patients suffering from terminal illness are able to make the most of their remaining time based on their own choices and free will.

The Hijirigaoka Hospital was certified in June 1996, becoming the fourth relief care facility in Tokyo. The facility has 11 beds. Teams consisting of specialists and nurses provide care respecting the wishes as well as the needs of each patient by controlling pain and relieving various other symptoms in order to implement the ideal form of relief care. Various steps have been taken to ensure that patients get the most out of their time in the hospital. These include holding classical music concerts that are participated in by members of the local community, as well as various other seasonal events. In addition, the facility is equipped with a lounge provided with large sofas and a fireplace to allow patients to enjoy chats with family and friends. The beds, chests, desks and other personal effects furnished by the hospital are made of oak for a feeling of familiarity and warmth. These personal touches, combined with an interior using soft tones to create a relaxing atmosphere, enable patients to spend their time pleasantly and in comfort. This facility places significant effort in ensuring that both patients and their families are able to spend peaceful and relaxing time together while ensuring that patients get the best life quality out of each and every day.
