Treatment involving the application of the Hasumi Vaccine in a clinical setting began in 1948. At that time, medical science was not mature enough to prove the physiological activity of the Hasumi Vaccine at the clinical level and gaining the necessary proof had long been a problem to Shukokai Incorporated. Their patience was finally rewarded. After more than fifty years, a joint research project between Shukokai Incorporated and the University of Maryland produced the long awaited evidence and the physiological activity of the Hasumi Vaccine was successfully demonstrated on dendritic cells, a part of the white blood cells.

To date, more than 130,000 people have been treated with the Hasumi Vaccine and today approximately 16,000 people in Japan and 6,000 people overseas are in continuing treatment with the vaccine. The therapeutic advantage of the Hasumi Vaccine has been demonstrated to prevent recurrence after a cancer operation. Approximately one-third of the patients are taking the vaccine against a secondary cancer, and though they are rather rare cases, some terminally grown tumors have been reported to vanish.

In addition to cancer vaccines, Shukokai Incorporated clinically applies other types of immunotherapy, such as cellular therapies including LAK therapy and DC therapy. A telephone consultation service is also established within the clinic and provides patients and their families with access to consultants who can give information and guidance pertaining to cancer, immunotherapy, and the patient's symptoms. Additionally, the clinic is conducting joint research with several Chinese colleges of traditional Chinese medicine and Japanese medical colleges, producing immunotherapeutic Chinese traditional medicine.
